A dream of home

Fun Fact: During 20 years that I live in Mexico, I never ate a crunchy taco.

Whenever I think of Mexican food, I think of those mornings walking in Mexico City and just seeing hundreds of food establishments on the street and can’t help feeling nostalgic about it.
Why I miss it so much? Simple because there is no comparison. Whether in restaurant, fast food chains or recipes taken from cookbooks, nothing seems to get even close to the smells and the flavors that are treasured in my memories.
The point I really want dive into is, why is this imaginary of Mexican food is so distorted of what actually is?tacosd First I want to share a Buzzfedd post, and the only thing I can say is:I agree to each one of them.

Now, when I think of someone thinking of cooking Mexican food, fear is what it comes to my mind, because I don’t where the recipes come from or if a recipe is even being followed. For all the mexican cookbooks and websites I’ve seen, nothing impresses me, and frankly, they keep breaking my heart. I just can not find something that meets my expectations

That is the reason I looked online for proper Mexican food recipes, and after a while I found an interesting book that might save my nostalgia of proper recipes. But why this fear, in what moment the image of mexican food became so distorted of what actually is? People are usually afraid of Mexican food, because it might to rich or spicy, when there always a lot of choices to go with. Who is to blame for this distortion? I don’t know, but if you ask me, I can cook real mexican food for you anytime you want.
