In 1991, two German hikers discovered what would turn out to be the oldest recorded meal in human history. The 5,000 year old body of a man, given the name Ötzi, was found almost astonishingly well  preserved in the ice of the Ötztal Alps.

Scientist would document every possible piece of this human time capsule. Aside from the physical wounds, one of the greatest story telling features turned out to be the preservation of his last meals. Based on the geography of the contents found in his stomach, researchers could actually being to map out his last few days alive.
