I have never really chosen a restaurant for the experience, but imagine the possibilities. Asian and European cultures have been doing themed and “weird” restaurant experiences for ages, and now many have started coming up stateside.
On CNBC, they list some of America’s Weirdest Restaurants, and the experiences just sound intriguing. From Lucky Cheng’s in New York City, which offers dinner and a show with lovely drag queens, to Opaque in California, which is dinner in the dark, the list offers many facets of unique dining in America.
I’ve previously been to one in the list, Dick’s Last Resort. The chain has many locations, and I visited the one in Myrtle Beach. I, and my family, didn’t know what to expect, but once we began getting insulted…we joined right in. The restaurant chain is famous for their messy (but yummy) food and the insulting staff. Don’t take it too personally, and remember, you can insult them right back!
