Anvil: The story of Anvil (Gervasi, 2008)
Despite their popularity and influence on the Heavy Metal scene in the early 80s, the band Anvil had faded into obscurity by the end of that decade. In 2005, Director Sacha Gervasi, who was a roadie for Anvil during its heyday, reconnected with his old friends Lips and Robb to document their comeback tour. Although comparison with THIS IS SPINAL TAP is inevitable, Gervasi gives us a much more complicated and nuanced portrait of these aging musicians and the dream they refuse to abandon. Watch the trailer.
