When is my application due?
February 15, 2019.
Who is eligible? What majors and years (Juniors/Seniors?) are preferred?
All years are welcome to apply, however, research experience is desirable for applicants. Desired majors include chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, chemistry, biology, and biochemistry. You must be a U.S. citizen with permanent residence to be eligible.
When will I know if I was accepted?
Applicants will be notified of acceptance no later than March 18, 2019.
What is the total length of the program?
The program will last for a total of 9 weeks, beginning in May and ending in July. This includes a 1-2 week orientation at Michigan Tech.
How does the stipend payment work?
Students will be paid every two weeks except for the last payment. The final payment will be held until the student creates a poster on his/her work. There is also money available to help students travel locally to present their posters after returning to the US.
Where would I be living (on campus/off campus)?
Housing will be provided. Basic furniture will be provided, such as beds, desks, and chairs.
How will I be reimbursed for travel and housing expenses?
We will book and directly pay for housing and most, if not all, transportation. Students will be given extra funds to cover food and other living expenses.

Can I accept additional employment during this program?
No. Students are expected to work full-time on their research project for the 9-week program.
How many spots are available?
Four undergraduate and one graduate student will be accepted into the program.
Will I be able to present my research work?
Yes! Students will be required to present their research work in a poster presentation at Michigan Tech or near their home institution when the program is concluded.
