Preserving Food Culture

Every restaurant has a story to tell. However, not every restaurant can boast that story is considered the longest of all of them.

In the heart of Madrid resides a restaurant called Sobrino Botin and it holds the title of oldest restaurant in the world. The restaurant is in many ways a time capsule of Spanish cooking. With recipes almost 300 years old, and the use of original ovens, there is a level preservation of culture and taste that even a well composed cook book could not match. There is little need the restaurant to make a presence through publications, as it holds a high reputation in customer satisfaction and is well advertised via word of mouth. Having ate there myself, I certainly say I would not be apposed to getting my hands on the original recipes for some of their meals.
