Supercook.com is the most comprehensive, easy to use recipe-from-ingredients service that I have found. What really makes Supercook.com stand out is that it not only suggests recipes based on what you have readily available, it also shows recipes that you only need a few additional ingredients.
Not only that, but you can choose from a list of restrictions (and choose multiple restrictions), which filters the recipes. This feature is really important for those who are on special diets or have food allergies. I have personally used this feature when making food for roommates, one of which has a dairy allergy. However, this feature only has 6 restrictions to choose from, which may not encompass all dietary restrictions for individuals.
Adding the ingredients to Supercook.com is easy with the auto-fill entry form. Also, Supercook.com has suggestions for ingredients, so you don’t have to think of all your available ingredients yourself. The website also features categories, so you can easily filter the results by desserts, drinks, mexican food, dinner, or other categories. However, if you want to search for recipes the “traditional” by name, that option is also available.
The only downside is that this service could stand to have more recipes, but almost all recipe databases have this issue, so its not just an issue with Supercook.com. Overall, Supercook.com is an easy-to-use, informative, and extensive option for people who need food inspiration, and is more interactive than traditional cookbooks or other recipe finders without such powerful filtering services.
